Drawing has always been an intensely imaginative and exploratory medium, offering artists an infinite landscape of discovery. The act of drawing is more than creating lines and shapes—it is a journey into the unknown, where new forms emerge through experimentation with various materials and techniques. It is in this spirit of exploration that The Manuscript: A Drawing Exhibition was conceived in 2017, serving as a platform for artists to express themselves through this versatile medium.
Since its inception, The Manuscript has grown, giving rise to two other exhibitions under its creative umbrella: Conformed Divergence and The Inner Form. Each exhibition pushed the boundaries of what drawing could represent, from the abstract to the deeply personal. As we now approach our fourth iteration, it feels fitting and vital to return to the exhibition’s original name, The Manuscript, as it encapsulates the raw, unfiltered process of artistic creation, much like the drafting of a manuscript itself. We are excited to announce that The Manuscript: A Drawing Exhibition will now be a bi-annual event, with the upcoming edition slated for February 2025. This online exhibition will continue to serve as a dynamic space for emerging and established artists alike to showcase their drawing practices, and for viewers to engage with the ever-expanding possibilities of the medium. In this iteration, we aim to further explore drawing as not just a finished product but as an evolving dialogue between the artist, their materials, and the ideas that manifest during the act of creation.
We invite audiences to immerse themselves in the work of artists who delve deep into the imaginative realms of drawing. Through their varied approaches—whether through traditional graphite, charcoal, ink, or more experimental materials—they each uncover new visual languages that challenge and inspire.
As we move forward with The Manuscript, we remain committed to drawing’s power to express the complexities of the human experience, as well as its ability to continuously reinvent itself. This bi-annual exhibition will stand as a celebration of drawing in all its forms, offering both artists and viewers a space for reflection, experimentation, and creative growth.
We look forward to welcoming you to this next chapter in February 2025.
