Life is a question that cannot be answered in one word or a single sentence. Life is what you do, what you love, what you hate, what you dislike while represented through change.

In this context, The Chronicles is Life and Time.

Life is Biography, and Time is History.

Lasisi Babtunde’s artistic practice is based on the exploration and synergy of various materials as a tool for social commentary in addressing various issues in his environment and society at large as well as his reality.

This body of work depicts exaggerated figures that serve as a medium of encouragement to appreciate and cherish every individual the way they are.

My friends were body-shamed for being fat, even with the whole happenings all around the world, he says, and for it is a fact that depression kills faster than a virus and addressing the issue with my art felt right at home.

Lasisi's drawing and painting are his means of representation in a magnified proportion. His art varies as he loves to explore varieties of materials and play with ideas as they come, through compositions of different imagery. He sees poetry and beauty in everyday life that allows him to create paintings that speak to him and connects with his audience.

As Africans, we pride ourselves in our cultural identity and are usually eager to display colors and patterns but there is still a thirst for life in every individual, the intense energy to strive for survival.

Lasisi is a sojourner documenting the visual experiences and struggles of the average man within this current time and metaphorically addressing various issues of Moral and Political statements.
